Goodbye 2009

Well, we have just 8.5 hours left in 2009, and we are off to a new decade.  It's amazing all the things that can happen in a year's time:  lives joined together in marriage, engagements to be married (congrats Katie and Josh), babies welcomed into the world and more babies being formed in their mother's womb (we have a whopping 4 close friends currently pregnant!), and  life-changing trips (thanks, Lord, for the chance to visit Europe!) just to name a few of things that have happened in and near our lives this year.  It's fun to think of what might happen in 2010.  I'm so thankful to know it rests in the hands of God, not me.

P.S. Looking for some good reading for 2010?  Check out some of Max Lucado's books.  I recently finished reading one of his classics, Just Like Jesus.  What a challenge and a great way to start the year!

Fun Photos

Recently, our friends Anna and Ryan came over to take some family pictures for us.  Since it had been a while since I scooped the backyard, we landed in the front of our house.  Which also meant Mr. Noah, aka Monster, had to be on leash the entire time.  Poor little guy - every time they called his name to get him to look at the camera, he thought he was supposed to run to them.  So, alas, in each picture Daniel and I are doing our best to have a firm grip on the leash or even his jersey just to keep him from dragging me to the ground.  He looks small, but believe me, he's strong!  What fun we had!

Delight Your Soul

Welcome to my soul delights. My hope and prayer is that as you follow along with me your soul, too, will find delight.

Delight in the hope that is Jesus Christ.
Delight in discovering true joy in each moment.
Delight in the smiles of the ones you love.
Delight in the learning moments each day brings.

As we journey, I look forward to hearing about what brings you delight.

Great are the works of the Lord; they are studied by all who delight in them.
Ps. 111:2 (italics mine)
